The Coastal region prides itself as the ultimate tourist destination but not all is well across the region. In the middle of Lamu County lies a precolonial site known as Pate ruins which was once a major tourist attraction but the standoff between the County and National Government on who exactly is responsible for the tourist site has seen the site degenerate into ruins.
