After weeks of protests by digital taxi drivers, ride-hailing platform Faras has announced a rate increase starting today. The base fare will rise from 200 to 240 shillings, with potential for further hikes in the future. Faras has also adjusted its commission to 18 percent to comply with regulations from the National Transport and Safety Authority.
