FGM continues in Kuria after schools were closed over COVID-19

    The future of hundreds of school-going girls from the Kuria community hangs in the balance following the prolonged school break occassioned by the COVID-19 pandemic that saw many of them forced into outdated cultural practices. The just-concluded FGM season that has refused to die among members of this community has left many children nursing wounds that will prevent them from resuming class like their peers in grades 4, 8, and form four students.
