Five police officers are on the spot for beating up a man in Kitui after arresting him in October 2021. Inspector Daniel Mutua, corporal Benson Kimotho and three police constables; Kevin Kirwa, Alfred Natire and Dominic Mbangula, took Japheth Manzi to Ngungani police station, stripped him naked and assaulted his private parts. After three years of investigations by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), the five have been summoned to court and are expected to appear at Kyuso law courts on 18th December for plea-taking.
