Former Busia governor Sospeter Ojaamong and eight other co-accused persons have been acquitted of an eight-million-shilling graft case filed against them by the Anti-Corruption Court. The case, filed in 2018 by the former director of public prosecutions Noordin Haji laid the charges following a probe into the government’s alleged loss of nearly eight million shillings of public funds to a german company for waste management services. The acquittal came owing to insufficient evidence in the case.
