There is a transformation that is quietly unfolding at kwa nyumba village, Mikindani area Mombasa County. Known as a crime and insecurity hotspot with gang and drug abuse running rampant, the area is slowing changing to one of the more peaceful and secure places in Mombasa. More than 200 former gang members have traded crime for fish farming and planting of mangroves. And as Francis Mtalaki reports the project has restored hope and peace to a once-troubled neighbourhood, with zero case of insecurity in the last 6 months.
