Victims of the 2007/08 post-election violence in Nakuru county now want the government to address growing insecurity and economic problems in the country to ensure that the gains made in uniting the nation are not eroded. The victims drawn from different communities in Rift Valley expressed their concern over the utterances by some of the politicians calling on the government to convene a national forum to discuss Kenya's spearhead the cohesion agenda. They argue the public spat being witnessed among the leaders is likely to undermine national security as it may incite their supporters against each other.
