Funeral service held for 17 people killed by illicit brew in Kirinyaga

A funeral mass is underway at Kangai Primary School ahead of the burials 17 illicit brew victims in Mwea, Kirinyaga County. The atmosphere was heavy as the caskets were removed from the hearse. In the wake of the incident, initial investigations revealed that the lethal alcohol originated from confiscated liquor stored at the Kiamaciri Police Station. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, during his visit to Kirinyaga County on Friday, pledged to press charges against John Muriithi, the proprietor of the Kirinyaga bar that was the scene of the tragedy.
