The National Chairperson of the Gender-Based Violence Technical Working Group, Dr. Nancy Baraza has sounded the alarm, warning of an epidemic of unspoken abuse and cultural silence. Speaking at the final public engagement forum in Nairobi, Dr. Nancy Baraza, said across counties, the team collected testimonies of various forms of abuse. Children as young as three years old have been sexually violated with some of their perpetrators being their family members. Women are the major victims of abuse with most cases remaining unreported.
