The Ministry of Education, in partnership with COMID-Kenya, is implementing an English grammar competition program dubbed ‘Stopping School Dropout through the Transformative Power of English Grammar’ in Migori County.According to data from the Foundation Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (FLANA) in 2023, the school dropout rate in Kenya increased from 7.5% in 2021 to 8.5% in 2023. Tobias Owuor, representing COMID-Kenya, said that 40 schools in Migori County are participating in the English grammar competition as part of efforts to combat high dropout rates.
