The State Department for Diaspora Affairs says it requires 400 million shillings to repatriate Kenyans affected by the escalating conflict involving Israel, the U.S., and Iran in the Middle East. Speaking before the Parliamentary Committee on Defence, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations, officials confirmed that 15 Kenyans have so far been evacuated from Iran to Turkey. The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs says more than 500,000 Kenyans are working across the Middle East, with many now appealing for assistance following Iran’s attack on the world’s largest gas plant in Qatar on Wednesday night.
