Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has defended agriculture cabinet secretary Mithika Linturi saying he is not involved in the fake fertiliser distribution scandal, saying allegations are a political witch-hunt. Mwaura further stated that although the product in question by the name GPC soil conditioner was distributed from the national cereal and produce board, it is not part of the government’s subsidized fertlizer adding that it doesn’t fall in the fertilizer category. The parliament’s departmental committee on agriculture and livestock is set to summon all agriculture stakeholders involved for questioning.
