The government has tonight suspended with immediate effect non-essential foreign travel by public officers. In an apparent move aimed at cutting down government spending, the head of public service has also cut by 50 per cent the number of delegation that can accompany the President, deputy president and the first lady, and cut further the number of those accompanying cabinet secretaries and principal secretaries to between two and one respectively.
