Governor Barchok, ex-governor Wangamati arraigned

    Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok, former Bungoma County Boss Wycliffe Wangamati and Ten other suspects charged with corruption related offenses at the Anti Corruption court in Milimani have been released on bond after pleading not guilty. Barchok was released on a 15 Million bond or a 5 Million shillings Cash Bail while Wangamati has been released on a 5 million shillings bond with an alternative payment of a 1.5 Million shillings cash bail. While delivering the ruling at the Milimani law courts, Principal Magistrate Ziporah Gichana instructed the suspects to surrender their passports within 7 days and barred them from interfering with witnesses. The accused persons have also been restricted by the court from making public pronouncements about the cases, with the mention of both cases scheduled to commence on 17th & 18th September respectively.
