And now onto the latest development an the Uasin Gishu County scholarship saga, where tonight Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii has refuted claims that the county government has reneged on its promise to support an oversees scholarship program for students pursing their studies in Finland. His claims coming even as hundreds of students from the county, who went to Finland are currently facing deportation following claims of failure by the county government to remit their second semester tuition fees as per the scholarship agreement. Governor Bii insists that the education program, which was initiated before he took office, was not a scholarship and was run by a trust with the county government only acting as guarantor to support parents in the visa application process.
