Kilifi Governor Gideon Mungaro has maintained that he will not pay pending bills that were flagged off by the auditor general.
Speaking at Mazingira park in Kilifi town when he officially launched the Free WiFi to residents the Governor blamed some businessmen he said were planning to sabotage his administration following his strong stand over the payment of pending bills.
The county currently has pending bills amounting to more than Sh1.5 billion, with which a huge percent of the bills flagged off by the Auditor General.
"There are people I am aware are inciting the people of Kilifi to demonstrate and cripple my government. The planners I. Know are the agitated business people whom some were involved in some unknown businesses and would want the county to pay. I have stated in my several forums that we will not pay cartels and other unscrupulous business people who thought that the county would pay for work that was not done. I will not relent," he said.
