Machakos Governor Her Excellency Wavinya Ndeti has presided over a major distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers in Masinga Central and Kivaa Wards under the Emergency Locust Response Project. The initiative supports her administration’s “Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni” development agenda.
Governor Wavinya reaffirmed agriculture as the backbone of Machakos County’s economy, contributing to over 70% of household incomes. She highlighted past efforts, including the distribution of 136 tons of seeds last season across all 40 wards. This latest round of support saw farmers in Masinga Central receive 648 Galla goats, over 3,400 improved kienyeji chicks, poultry feed, beehives, honey processing equipment, fertilizers, hermetic storage bags, and pest control insecticides. In Kivaa, over 2,200 chicks, fertilizers, and nearly 950 hermetic bags were distributed.
