Gov’t says 38 counties in alarm phase of flood disaster

Only nine counties across the country are yet to be affected by the ongoing el nino rains, as the government now places 38 counties in the alarm stage in the disaster management plan. The Cabinet, meeting today has outlined a raft of measures aimed at addressing the impact of the floods, and approved the release of a total of 27 billion shillings to assist counties handle the rapidly changing el nino situation across Kenya.
