At least nine people have lost their lives due to the ongoing heavy rains in the last 24 hours raising the number of casualties to 228. Government spokesperson Dr. Isaac Mwaura while briefing the nation on the effects of floods said 72 people are still missing having been swept away by floods in different parts of the country. The government has also warned fishermen in the coast region to keep off the ocean since the area will be experiencing strong winds and rainfall over the next three days.
