Gov’t undertakes to fully implement phase 2 of Civil Servants CBA pay rise

    The Union of Kenya Civil Servants (UKCS) has called-off its planned strike after the government undertook to fully implement Phase 2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement on salary increment. Public Service and Human Capital Development Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi said it will cost the Government 1.5 billion shillings. The Union’s Secretary General Tom Odege said the salary increment that will be backdated to July this year will enhance service delivery. Meanwhile, the cabinet secretary for labour and social protection Dr. Alfred Mutua has announced a six percent minimum wage increment for Kenyan workers by October this year.
