Thousands of residents turned up to receive the much-needed medical assistance ranging from simple diagnosis to complex procedures. The organizers called on the government to support innovative solutions such as telemedicine and mobile health clinics, which can help to bridge the access to healthcare gaps for patients living in rural areas According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KEBS), out of the approximately 13,000 doctors who work in Kenya, only about 2000 (16 percent), work in rural areas, leaving a substantial number of rural residents with limited access to medical care.
