Tonight, we begin with a story of deep pain and desperation unfolding at the kenyatta national hospital. Boniface mwangi kariuki, a street vendor shot by a police officer, remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit. Doctors have told his family that kariuki cannot survive without life-support machines. So far, he has undergone two surgeries to remove bullet fragments lodged in his head —and still, his family holds on to a fragile hope that he will pull through. As ben kirui reports, police bosses have visited the family home in murang’a, promising that justice will be done.
