Hostile reception forces Kalonzo to cut short Tharaka Nithi tour

Wiper Liberation Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka was forced to cut short his tour of Tharaka constituency on Thursday as pro-government supporters chanting pro-government slogans disrupted the meeting. The tour that sought to traverse Marimanti, Kibung’a, Mukothima, and Gachoroni on its first of a two-day tour of Tharaka Nithi county, was abruptly brought to an end at Kibung'a as “tutam chants” made it hard for the leaders to address the gathered crowd. As Kamau Mwangi now reports, Kalonzo has accused Deputy President Kithure Kindiki of being behind the disruption of his itinerary.
