Human rights defenders are now calling for urgent legal reforms to criminalize acts of Gender Based Violence and Femicide in the country. Led by the National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders Kenya, the organizations say insufficient legal infrastructure for dealing with criminal acts against women has inhibited the fight against the menace in the corridors of justice. The call comes as the country gears up to celebrate International Women’s Day slated for the 8th of March 2025.
