The Human Rights Watch has raised concerns over the government's lack of clarity on the Shakahola massacre where over 429 bodies were exhumed. 9 months after detention the main suspect Paul Mackenzie is yet to be prosecuted on the charges and the families who identified their kin are yet to be given the bodies for burial. The body has also expressed concern over how the government has taken so long to conclude the case and its lack of a proper information channel for families of the victims, human rights groups, and the media.
