IEBC seeks increased funding ahead of 2027 elections

As the country prepares for the budget reading on Thursday, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) wants the National Treasury to adjust its allocation to enable the commission to adequately prepare for the 2027 general elections. IEBC says it had requested Sh74.8 billion to be availed for the polls, but Parliament allocated only 55 per cent of the amount requested.
