Of the 44 presidential aspirants in the forthcoming general election, only approximately 17 have so far submitted signatures and copies of identity cards, with the independent electoral and boundaries commission closing the exercise today. UDA, Azimio la Umoja, and wiper among other parties; Reuben Kigame and Grita Muthoni among other independent candidates are among those who presented the signatures to IEBC. A larger number however failed to turn up lamenting that the threshold of 48,000 signatures was an expensive affair used by the electoral body to elbow them out of the race.
