Ilchamus, Pokot communities using conservation of the endangered Rothchild Giraffe to foster peace

Rothchild Giraffe is also known as Baringo Giraffe due to its predominance in the dry and hot savannah around Lake Baringo. Hostilities between the Ilchamus and Pokot communities inhabiting the area has frustrated conservation efforts for decades. On realising the endangered status of the giraffe, the two communities have now come together to save the animal that unites them.
