Nambale Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mulanya is calling on the police and National Government Administrative officers to partner with local residents in order to help crackdown on insecurity issues in the are. Speaking at Otiri primary school grounds during the burial of a 57-year old Nyongesa Mutoka who was kidnapped and murdered by unknown assailants, Mulanya regretted that leaders can no longer sit back and watch as criminals take over, killing and maiming at will. The legislator’s comments come in the wake of rising insecurity in the area that has seen a total of 5 people murdered in unclear circumstances in a span of 4 months. Local residents have also been up in arms in protest against the police for failure to arrest suspects even in cases where compelling evidence has been provided demanding a total overhaul failure to which they will demonstrate.
