Iran's President Raisi dead

President William Ruto has eulogized Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi as a fearless leader and a dedicated public servant. The late Raisi was this morning declared a martyr with his death announced at the country’s most important religious site, the shrine of Imam Reza in the city of Mashhad. Iran’s vice-president, Mohammad Mokhber is expected to become the country’s interim president before an election constitutionally takes place within 50 days of the president’s death.
