Isiolo speaker row turns violent as protesters torch police truck

Police in Isiolo have launched a manhunt for protesters who torched a breakdown lorry during a chaotic standoff over a county assembly vehicle. What began as an official recovery operation has now escalated into a fiery political dispute, pitting rival camps in a Speaker’s seat battle that’s turning increasingly violent. County Commissioner Geoffrey Omoding has accused former Speaker Mohamed Roba Qoto of mobilizing supporters who forcibly removed the lorry from his compound and later set it ablaze. Omoding insists all perpetrators will face the full force of the law.
