The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has announced that its political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed in an Israeli airstrike. Haniyeh was killed in a raid on his residence in Tehran shortly after participating in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president. Iranian state television also confirmed Haniyeh’s death, noting that an investigation into the assassination is ongoing, with results to be announced soon. As of now, Israel has not made any immediate announcements regarding the incident.
