Waziri wa usalama wa kitaifa Kipchumba Murkomen amesema maandamano ya jana yalikuwa jaribio la kupindua serikali. Waziri ametaja kile kilichoshuhudiwa humu nchi wakati wa maadhimisho ya mwaka mmoja tangu maandamano ya mwaka jana kupinga mswada wa fedha wa mwaka 2024 kuwa ugaidi. Amesema serikali iko na ushahidi wa wafadhili wa maandamano hayo na kwamba viongozi wa maandamano hayo wanachunguzwa. Murkomen amesema watu kumi walipoteza maisha yao huku watu wengine 400 wakijeruhiwa. Naye naibu rais Kithure Kindiki amesema waandamaji walichochewa kisiasa.
