    Watafiti, maprofesa na wataalamu wanaoshughulikia dhuluma za kijinsia kutoka vyuo vikuu nchini wanaonya kwamba kiwango cha dhuluma hizi kinazidi kuongezeka na kuathiri uchumi wa taifa, kuvuruga ndoa na kuwaachia waathiriwa udhia maishani. Katika mkutano na jopo linaloshughulikia dhuluma za kijinsia lililoongozwa na Dkt. Nancy Baraza, wasomi walibaini ufichuzi unaoibua wasiwasi ukionesha Kenya inapoteza shilingi bilioni 41 kila mwaka kutokana na visa vya dhuluma za kijinsia na mauaji ya wanawake. Wasomi hao waliopendekeza mifumo sawazishi ya kuripoti visa hivi pamoja na vituo jumuishi vya uokoaji ili kukabiliana na hali hii, walisema dhuluma za kijinsia sio suala la wanawake pekee, ila ni dharura ya kitaifa.
