REVIEW FOOD VENDING DIRECTIVE
A section of political leaders from the Western region has faulted the directive by Kakamega County Governor Ferdinand Barasa to ban the hawking of food in the streets and open spaces in the region. Speaking at a funeral in Mumias West Constituency, the leaders expressed disappointment with the governor’s move, describing it as unjust to small-scale traders struggling to make a living. The governor on a notice however reverted the directive permitting the traders to resume their operations while urging them to maintain the highest hygiene.
