Opposition leaders, led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, have strongly cautioned President William Ruto against any move to abolish the free education program initiated by the late President Mwai Kibaki.
Speaking during a tour of the Ukambani region, the leaders emphasized that dismantling the program would threaten the future of millions of Kenyan children. They also took aim at the Kenya Kwanza government’s economic empowerment initiatives, branding them a veil for corruption due to poor transparency and lack of clear budgeting.
The leaders rallied citizens—especially the youth—to register for ID cards, calling it their most powerful tool ahead of the 2027 general elections.
