KEFRI working on the mass production of bamboo

In a bid to join the government's effort to ensure food security, the Kenya forest research institute (KEFRI) Has been working on the mass production of bamboo through tissue culture to offer bamboo shoots as an alternative meal on the Kenyan dining table. with the versatility of bamboo species, edible bamboo shoots which are a delicacy in the Asian Quisin can easily replace some of the crops currently underproduced as a result of climate change.
