The Ministry of Health has urged legislators to fast track legal entrenchment of the Kenya National Public Health Institute which was established under a legal notice of 2022 in order to attract financing. The institute which was launched on Thursday by the Cabinet secretary for Health Aden Duale, is expected to strengthen public health security through preventive and promotive healthcare by conducting disease surveillance, health research, policy coordination and rapid emergency response.
