Kenya Reinsurance board appointment challenged in court

A petition has been filed at the High Court challenging the Kenya Reinsurance Corporation board appointment following an Annual General Meeting held on July 19, 2026. The petitioners argue that the election of directors was conducted in a manner that appears to have undermined the rights of minority shareholders, who are entitled to three board representatives. They are seeking urgent intervention by the court to stop the new board from transacting business until its constitution is determined. Jimmy Mbogoh reports.
