Kenya-Somalia border to be reopened in phases within 90 days

    The Kenya and Somalia border will be reopened within 90 days from today, in a phased-out manner. This was the key resolution during a high-level ministerial meeting at Harambee House, chaired by Cabinet Secretary for the Interior and National Administration Kithure Kindiki and Somalia Minister For Interior Security Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali. First to be reopened within 30 days is the Mandera-Bula Hawa border point, in Mandera County. It will be followed by the reopening of the Liboi-Harhar/Doble border point, Garissa County within sixty (60) days. Ninety (90) days from today, point Daresalaam in Kiunga-ras Kamboni border, Lamu county will be reopened. The ministers said the reopening of the border signifies triumph over terror.
