Kenya starts development of the second largest geothermal power plant in the country. DP Gachagua presided over the ground-breaking ceremony of the Ksh.20 billion Menengai Geothermal project in Menengai, Nakuru County It is the second large-scale geothermal project developed after The Olkaria V Geothermal Power Station. Upon completion in 2025, the plant will inject 35MW into the national grid. The power project is being undertaken in partnership with Globeleq - a subsidiary of Africa Development.
