Kenya’s gambling industry is set for a major shake-up after President William Ruto signed into law the Gambling Control Bill. The Bill introduces sweeping reforms that will regulate betting with the establishment of the Gambling Regulatory Authority. Gambling operators will now be taxed 15% of their gross revenue which will be channeled to the Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund. Also signed into law is the Kenya Roads Amendment Bill, 2025 seeking to streamline the tenure and terms of the top leadership of Kenya’s road authorities.
