Kiambu County has recorded its highest-ever own-source revenue collection, raising KSh 6.5 billion in the 2025/2026 financial year.
The county government has attributed the milestone to enhanced revenue collection systems and prudent financial management.
Speaking during the unveiling of the county's revenue performance, Kimani Wamatangi said revenue has grown steadily since he assumed office, rising from KSh 2.8 billion in his first year to the current KSh 6.5 billion.
He said reforms in revenue collection have enabled the county to increase investment in roads, healthcare, water, markets and other public services, while reducing reliance on allocations from the national government.
