Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung'aro has feted players, coaches, and officials from around the country who participated in the Berlin Special Olympics World Games and also in the Beach games in Tunisia at his residence in Kilifi town, promising to invest heavily in sports in the coming years.
The Governor who congratulated the team following their sterling performances that led to the athletes scooping medals in different fields for the country and the county.
"I want to thank you for your efforts, brilliant performance and determination that enabled you to win these medals and make our country and our county as well proud. We celebrate you," he said. Governor Mung'aro said sports had not been given more recognition in the previous regime but announced his commitments to the department which includes the purchase of a new welfare bus that will be used by sports youths men and women in different sports programs.
