Kirinyaga court slashes bail for ten Saba Saba protesters

The Wang’uru law courts in Kirinyaga county has revised the cash bail for ten accused persons, who were unable to raise the 50,000 shillings. The court lowered the bail by ten thousand shillings, an amount that the defense still argued was too high for the poor families. This comes even as three people who were charged with stealing items worth 130 million shillings during the protests pleaded not guilty at the Nyeri law courts.
