Families of victims and survivors of the 2024 protests, as well as those whose rights were violated during the 2017 presidential elections unrest, have been asked by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) to submit additional evidence within 21 days to be listed among those eligible for compensation before June. The commission said the compensation fund, currently set at KSh 2 billion, could increase, warning that anyone attempting to falsify claims against the government will face legal action.
