It has been established that many learners and teachers opt to stay at home because they fear attacks by bandits, bloody conflicts and constant battles between neighbouring communities.

Fresh attacks have left more than ten people dead and hundreds of livestock stolen, many families displaced in Kerio Valley since the year began.
