The speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula has filed a notice of appeal at the Supreme Court seeking to challenge the decision of the court of appeal on halting the housing levy. This notwithstanding the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) is calling on the government to refund the housing levy that has been remitted on behalf of the members in compliance with a court ruling that termed the levy unconstitutional. This is even as laborers in the construction industry staged demonstrations outside Milimani law courts protesting the decision to stop the housing levy and consequently house construction
