KUPPET urges MPs to boost education capitation funding

    The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education teachers (KUPPET) is calling on the national assembly to allocate adequate funds for school capitation, to maintain the Sh22,244 per learner. KUPPET secretary general Akello Misori says the education sector is grappling with serious challenges that require urgent national dialogue. Among the key issues he highlights is the placement of junior secondary schools within primary school structures and the urgent need to recruit more teachers across the country.
