Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has thrown his weight behind Duncan Mbui in the Mbeere North Constituency by-election after officially handing him the Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party certificate in Ishiara. Mbui recently defected from Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), accusing the outfit of sidelining him in favour of a candidate fronted by Justin Muturi’s Democratic Party (DP). The move has significantly shifted the dynamics of the race, which is already crowded with candidates backed by President William Ruto, Muturi, and retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.
